Science Alive

As part of our science inquiry learning we enjoyed a morning with the knowledgeable teachers from Science Alive. Our challenge was to use our knowledge of forces to design and build bridges.

Rugby/Netball Tournament

On Friday 21st August we competed against Swannanoa School in rugby and netball. This is an annual event.

Assembly

Well done Room 8 for organising and running assembly today. You did a great job.

Writing

This week we are planning and writing children's picture books. We are so enthusiastic we want to stay inside and work during breaks!

Food Technology

Science

We have been learning about Newton's Laws of Motion. Today we worked with Room 6 to find ways to work with gravity, friction and air resistance. Our goal was to drop an egg from height and for the egg to remain whole.

Science - Friction

We used Lego cars to test our ideas. We changed the car tyres to find out if different tyres created different amounts of friction.

Food Technology

The year 8 class developed savory scone recipes this week, selecting their own raising agents and savory fillings.
