Rock Climbing - School Camp
Tuesday 22nd March at Hanmer springs.
The breeze gently whipped through my hair as if it were an animal.
The towering wall stood beyond me. My body quivered as Crystal told us how to put our harness’ on. I gazed up at the bumpy moist wall. Mrs Wardle was taking pictures as people were climbing up the rock wall.
I was getting excited as it was coming to my turn.
My hands gripped on to the damp rocks. My harness tightened as I climbed up higher and higher to my goal. I had reached my goal. As I progressed down I almost slipped, but I finally got down. Then we went back to the camp for lunch.

Morning Run - School Camp
6:35 am
My heart pounded. Footsteps and voices echoed down the winding forest path. The chilled mountain air made my mind go blank. First time nerves made me tremble, I’ve never been in a forest this early in the morning. The sound of my heavy breath sent shivers up my spine. My legs quickly passed each other. Back and forth, back and forth.
6:48 am
As the others wait at the path intersection I turn round a corner and come to a stop. The dark trees surrounded me as the others dragged themselves up the miniature hill. Why? Why did the teachers have to make us get up and go for a run this early in the morning? Dragging us out of bed like we should have been awake for hours. We circle around a large pine tree and head back to camp. One day I will get the teachers back!
